My name is Sidney Sweeten. I am a Utah-based artist specializing in landscapes and portraits. I do most of my work in oil paint and scratchboard. My love for art started at a young age, as my family encouraged creativity greatly. My grandfather, Soren Edsberg, and great grandfather Knud Edsberg, being well-known, professional artists. I continued making art through my childhood and teenage years, attending Kiser School of Art for 5 years. And I also had the opportunity to have my art in the Springville Museum All-State High School Show.I currently attend UVU and work as an Activities Assistant and CNA at an assisted Living Facility.
In my work I hope to reflect the sense of beauty and longing found only when in nature or a particular place close to the heart. I am constantly trying to capture the unattainable beauty of nature I see everyday. My undying love for art fuels the ideas I hope I can bring to life in the future. I want to show, that through the universal language of art, we can learn, heal, and connect.
